Nicole & John's Villa Rose wedding in the heart of Donegal was stunning! There is no doubt about it, if you have passion & determination then you can have the most amazing, authentic and memorable wedding in Ireland. Nicole & John were the dream couple on the lead up to their wedding despite the challenges of date changes and restrictions thrown their way due to Covid. The ladies got ready at the Gallen family home outside Ballybofey. Their hair & make-up was done, the breakfast ate and the first bottle of Moet cracked open by the time I arrived. Deadlyyyyy! Future brides take note as this level of organisation will guarantee that you too have the most relaxed, stress-free morning.
Meanwhile , the men of the house were air drying the grass for the photos (yes , you read that correctly) and shining the cars.
The ceremony took place only 5 mins away at the Church of Mary Immaculate in Stranorlar. Only the couples closest family and friends could attend due to Covid restrictions but the most important element remained, their marriage could go ahead.
Shortly after the ceremony the couple made their way to one of my favourite, hidden spots only a few miles outside Ballybofey that has breathtaking views of Barnesmore Gap. Over the past six years I have searched and found some of the best kept secret locations in Ireland to take my couples for wedding portraits and engagement sessions. It's one of the most fun parts of my job, getting the chance to explore. Meanwhile, the Gallen and Harkin families made their way back to the Cottage & Gardens to relax and enjoy a glass of vino awaiting Nicole & John's return.
Once we had the bridal & family photographs ticked off the list we made our way to the intimate surroundings of the Villa Rose Hotel where the couple held their reception. The venue looked as stunning as ever and the service was first class too.
Now that you've got a glimpse of Nicole & John's wedding day, go ahead and peak through loads more photos from their wedding day below starting from the morning all the way through to the evening.
Enjoy!
